So apparently I fell off the track, and now I'm back. The New Year is always a good time to get things back into order, resolve to be organized, efficient, healthy, wealthier and wiser. Well, that might be a little much, so I'll just resolve to quilt more and worry less...how's that for an achievable goal?
I've been working on a quilt for the Room Formerly Known as Son#1's. Originally I thought it would go on the bed, but I've decided on the wall instead. The original is from the Blackbird ladies in the Country Inn book:
The blocks are 20 x 22, so four of them should make a nice sized wall hanging.
So I finished my blocks, rinsed, blocked, ironed and trimmed them and magically, all the applique stayed in the blocks!
I started on a few on the border blocks and something did not seem right to my eye... I don't know if it is the color selection or the size of the inside of the quilt, but the 6" blocks around the border look too big.
So I scaled them down to 4" and now I think it's working....
what do you think?
Guess I should stick to my resolution and worry less about if this is right, and just go for it! There's no quilt police, right?
Hugs and Stitches!
