Will Work for Fabric

Center of attention

ok, working on 100+ baskets is fun and all, but I was looking forward to putting some up on the wall and start to see a quilt come together.  so while the rain is raining and the wind is blowing, I'm  stitching.

And now it's starting to look like something...

I'm liking the variety of backgrounds...I think it give it a little punch.  Maybe I should go completely wild and stick in a blue basket somewhere....we'll see, I don't want to rush into anything!

First BOM

I did it!   I actually finished my first ever BOM!  (despite glares from Sisters who shall remain nameless).

now it's off to the quilter.  with all this wool and all the quilting, I bet when this is done it's gonna weigh a ton, but won't it be so warm on a cold winter's night?

today is totally a prep day, with a big storm coming and loss of power looming, I better have some handwork to do....oh yeah, maybe I should buy some food and water too....

what's next?

Well I was minding my own business at the Oaks Show a few weeks back when the tracter beam pull of the Christmas Shop pulled us into the booth.  

On top of everything else that was so beautiful we wanted to buy, Sister Mary Starbucks spotted a new project that we needed to do.

The pattern was not cheap, but when she said "I'll think about it"  but didn't actually walk away, I knew we were doomed.

And now we must make ths quilt:

the sample used Daiwoo fabric and it was GORGEOUS  but seeing as I left my big bucket of money home, I decided on Quilters Linen instead  

 this Kaufman fabric comes in all sorts of delicious colors (translatation:  I will be buying more of this!).

So this weekend, perhaps, if the scheduling fairies are nice to me, I might find a little time to do some prepping on this block:
