I must be entering the pink spell....thoughts of spring perhaps, or just a overload of boy things in my house is pushing me to the pink.
I try to keep to quiet activities while the house is still asleep, so yesterday morning I started on the cutting of Bonnie's Double Delight. As with many of Bonnies quilts, there's a ton of cutting, but a great way to use some stash!
I didn't start at Step One, I felt like making my 9 patches -- no heaving lifting for the brain.
what's not to love about pink stripes? Hopefully today I'll have 130 (or some other ridiculous number) little pink 9 patches. And then I'll have to go back to step one, I guess. Guess I know why my kids don't always follow the directions.....they have a genetic predisposition to siedways thinking.
And what about pink and chocolate? Love that combo too, so I made this month's guild BOM with some pink too.
This year's Garden State Quilters BOM program is a collection of baskets. It's a mystery quilt, all different size blocks, all different baskets....you can go here if you want to follow along.
Mmmmm, wonder what other pink projects I can work on....
Hugs and Stitches!
Megan
P.S. For my NJ friends...I have 2 applique classes on the schedule at Aardvark in Morris Plains. Come join the fun!
Hi Megan,
I am from NJ too. I live in Lanoka Harbor which is way TOO far from Morris Plains to go to an applique class way up there. My brother and sil lived in Morris Plains until 2 years ago when the warmth of Florida called to them.
I'll have to add your blog to my favorites and come back often to check up on a NJ native....
Happy Sewing,
Peggy

Hi Megan! I say "you can't have too much pink"! It's not just a color you know, it's an ATTITUDE!

You are going to love how Double Delight turns out!
I did mine in scarlet, dark brown and pinks, with gold where she used the cheddar. It is so traditional and feminine. I am really glad I did it.
I had originally started making green and white 9 patches for it, then changed my mind. Now I am going to make a second Double Delight with those.
Good luck on yours!

Double Delight is my favorite of Bonnie's mysteries, and I definitely want to make this one. I tend to do things out of order too - the little quilt I am making now was done completely out of order. Thanks for the tip about the steam mop. I've been doing things the hard way all along, and maybe an electric mop will get me to clean more often!
