every quilter needs that friend that you can call right after her first cup of coffee and say "do we need fabric?" and her answer will always be "of course we need fabric". Today I had a perfectly wonderful day of selecting fabric for Christmas gifts to be made with Sister Mary Awful....who it turns out, really is not so awful. And surprising one of the other Irreverent Sisters for lunch was the icing of this cupcake of a day.
Here's what we picked out for a backpack for a certain little miss in my extended family
oops, these must have fallen into my bag.....mmmm what to do, what to do
well even though she forced me to buy fabric, it was fun!
Oh, and I experimented a little yesterday with zippers, and made these little cases. They are modeled after a Lazy Girl pattern(now there's someone who can write a pattern!), but I didn't have the right size zipper so I made a few adjustments.....
the are about 5" long and 4" wide. they are just the right size for little scissors, thread, needles, etc for my applique projects. I'm afraid these totes, bags, cases are getting a little addicting.....
Hugs and Stitches!

Last night we handpieced using the freezer paper templates printed from EQ. I use the C. Jenkins 8-1/2" x 11" sheets right in my inkjet printer. It saves you all the marking of the lines and checking as you are sewing, you can feel if you are sewing along the seam line cause you'll hit paper if you are off. You should have some of this in your bag of tricks....
