There's been so much talk about presents, what are you getting, did I get something for everyone, will they like what I got them?
But I got was getting in the car yesterday and a little tiny thing happened to remind that the very best presents aren't wrapped at all.
Now, I have two high spirited boys each with a well defined sense of what's theirs. So we are going out the car to get the the dentist and I hear the same conversation I have heard hundreds of times
Twin 1: Day?
Twin 2: Twenty-one
and Twin 1 gets in the front seat of the car.
That's it, that's the whole conversation.
So what, right?
Well here's the thing. when they first got to the age that they could finally ride in the front (which of course happened on the exact same day), they would fight about who got to ride in the front. So their father (I know, it should have been me) came up with a plan. Odd days, Twin 1 sits in the front, Even, Twin 2 sits in front. Now I don't normally say this about DH but, GENIUS! And what a gift.
Every day since, he has given me peace for these few minutes, every time we get in the car.
And isn't peace the best gift ever?
And I'm thinking about friends who are having a hard time and neighbors still suffering from the impact of the flood in August and any of you carrying heaviness in your heart. And I'm wishing you peace.
Peace in the next few days,
Peace in the next year
Peace in your hearts and in your homes.
And if you are lucky like me, you'll have peace in the car too!
Hugs and Stitches!
Megan
