Last weekend the Sisters headed to Hershey for a class with the most FANTABULOUS Sue Spargo. We were interested to learn about working with wool and embellishments.
So we packed up everything we own (admit it, you do the same thing when you go to class!) and then stopped at Burkholders to buy more. The problem with going shopping together is...."oh, I might as well take a half yard of that too". It's expensive, but fun to see what everyone does (doesn't do) with our similar stashes. I digress....
We were to make to Teaberry Sac, but the focus was really just on the handwork on the front.

So we cut, we stitched, we learned about threads, trims, beads.
I can feel it. I'm gonna need to have Valdani in every color, trims of all sorts, silks....
I started this new obsession with a few key purchases:
This book is just right for the way I learn....step by step pictures. And there's a left handed version too, for those who need that!
And of course I bought some Valdani and immediately put it to use

here's the front so far....but I think I'm not done yet....
The class was 9-5 but it felt like 9 - 10. It went so fast and was so wonderful and informative. If Sue Spargo comes to your neighborhood, RUN to her class! And bring along some friends it makes it so much more fun.
Hugs and Stitches!
