I give!!!!

Thanks for your suggestions on how to remove the black haze on my embroidery debacle.  

But dang! none of them worked.  I tried Carbona, Oxyclean, Synthropol, bar soap, liquid soap, etc.  

I give!  You win black cloud.

The moral of the story is:  when the package of Transfer Eze says that you should test a small piece first, they mean it!

I couldn't bear to start this project again, so I turned to my trusted friend, applique.  You never let me down, you always lift me up.

 Applique, don't fail me now.... 

aaaah, at least something is going my way.  Guess I'll stick with this for a while, embroidery is too stressful!

So only like 50 blocks to go....maybe by then I'll be ready to tempt the embroidery gods again.

Ugh!

While the beloved Bernina is in for annual maintenance, there's hand work going on.  I pulled out this pattern to do a little needling..

and in no time flat I had the embroidered panel done.

But here's the Ugh part.

I used Transfer Eze for the guide.  After I finished the stitching, I  pulled off the big peices and then soaked the piece in cold water.

Now I seem to have a black haze around where the stitching lines were...

I tried soap, but no luck.  I tried soaking more, no luck.

Any suggestions?

Channeling the A-Team

I had a few days off from work this week, so my plan was to take my much loved and much used Bernina in for a little cleaning, tuning....ya know, the works.  The trip to Pocono Sew n Vac is about a hour each way, so it takes a chunk of day to go and come back. 

But before I could do that I needed to finish up piecing the monster Summer Quilt.

So I sewed and sewed and sewed....and finished before my little break from work started.

So I handed  it off  to Barbie VanWonderful for quilting.

then headed west to PA and dropped off the machine before heading to the the airport to drop off my two world travelers.  (for those keeping score, I made it out of Pocono without purchasing a single thing!!!)

I'm exhausted!

But I love it when a plan comes together.
