Temporary Ban on Multi-Tasking
I had a breakfast get-together this morning and then some running around in town and then got home with an hour to spare before the invasion of the men of the house. mmmmm, what can I get done in an hour of peace? I know, I'll "restore my natural haircolor" before they get home. So I put the goop in the my hair and now I have to wait 25 minutes. mmm, what can I get done in 25 minutes, nothing in the sewing department onaccounta drips would be hazardous. So I sit at the computer.
I take a look at emails and then typepad. I notice I'm getting some hits from my friends at McCalls.
Following the trail and I get here
and then I end up on this page
Look! It's my basket quilt. I knew it was coming out in the August issue, I just didn't know that the August issue was out already. And then I had to look at the other beauties in the same issue. Love Beth's quilt and all the rest.
Well, you know, we've all burned cookies because we weren't watching the time.....need I say more? let's just say I'm a few shades darker than my "natural color"....we'll just call the color "YIKES".
New rule: set a timer when "restoring natural color" and for now there's a temporary ban on multitasking.
Hugs and Stitches!
Megan

Bless your heart! I can't even REMEMBER what my natural hair color might be!

I got a glimpse of my natural color when I had the sunroof open today and was stopped at a red light and saw it thru the rearview mirror - Yikes wasn't the word I used! How did old just happen???

I remember those days! When it became a chore to color my hair I finally stopped (streaked my hair to allow the grey grow out). Besides, despite the outside grey I am still young inside! I do try not to multi-task too much. (don't chew gum and try to cross the street 'cause I lack a certain graceful coordination and the attention span of knat at times!) Luckily you only ended up with YIKES! By the way, what Does YIKES look like? LOL

Excellent! I love your basket quilt. Very cheerful! I wonder when the subscriptions are hitting the mailboxes? I agree, I love Beth's quilt too.
As for the multitasking, even though your hair came out too dark this time, spend a little time in the sun and it will lighten. After having mine colored for 14 years, I have learned all the tricks. Good Luck!

I always say that the computer open up a serious time warp...whole blocks of time disappear in a matter of seconds!
Congrats on the quilt! Lovely!

Your basket quilt is just beautiful, Megan! Congratulations on the spread in McCall's. Condolences on the multitasking thing ... ; ) Actually, it happens at the salon too with technicians who get stuck on their cell phones with personal calls. Yeah, it's happened to me too, but I've paid for the privilege.
Keep up your beautiful work -- I love visiting your blog on a regular basis.

Oh my Megan, I just posted about multi-tasking as you get older but I hadn't thought about getting involved with a blog and forgetting other things! I gave up on my natural color a year ago and just went with God's color. :) Saves a lot of time and "oops" moments! I think the basket quilt is just wonderful - wish I had a smidgen of imagination.
