Catching the Fever
well it seems that someone in my house has caught the fever....
don't you just love that he has thread on his shirt sleeve like the rest of us???
Last week I went into the 4th grade class to make a quilt for the local children's hospital. The kids each drew on a block and then we made a sandwich and then they did some quilting. I came home and put them together using that "quilt as you go" method.
I left a blank block for the one child that was absent last week.
It was especially fun seeing my little one threading everyone's needle and showing them where to quilt.
Now I just have the other 4th grade class to do.....yikes, I need about 5 more hours in the day!
Hugs and Stitches!

This is a lovely quilt! And such a great idea. It is hard to beat the freshness of design in kids drawings. I also love the way you put it together.

I like to see children being taught about quilt making. What a great and worthy quilt project.

My 13 year old and his friends took sewing this last term and he loved it. I see him at my machine and I seriously get worried. But he hasn't messed it up. He's sewn strange things though. An ipod carrier and some thing for the dog!

My 11 year old son likes to take out my older machine some times and whip something up.

Hey Megan,
I try to read your blog from time to time and always enjoy it! Especially the twin stories ;-)
Did you go to market? And how's your college boy?
Come visit me and play blog tag... you've probably done this before, but it was fun!
