What's in a name?

I've been hard at work in the past week working on projects for publication....sorry, but I can't tell you when and where yet....

but it's kept me from my CWD and DJ blocks, so this morning, I set out to do a few.  Some I love, some, not so much.

there is certainly some degree of "winging it" with these blocks.  You choose fabrics that you think work in the block, and sometimes they do and sometimes, well you know....but I've decided I will not remake any blocks til they are all done and put up on the wall together.  It may be that some that I don't love will hit the spot when put together with the others.

So the bottom right block didn't turn out to be a fav, but then, was it starting out with 2 strikes against it by being named "Gloomy Prospects"?

Hope your prospects for the week are sunny!

Hugs and Stitches!

Megan

Can't wait to see what you are working on. I know it will be a pleasant surprise.

Love the blocks. Are you doing these by hand or machine? If you are doing them by hand do you have any suggestions for a beginner who's only machine pieced?!

Megan, I understand how you feel. But it may just be that when you get it put together there will be just the right block next to it! You really are doing a beautiful job putting them together. I can't wait to see your DJ blocks. Good luck with your secret project:). Love Stacy

The blocks look great! And what a wonderful blog you have! I clicked "next blog" and ended up here!!! What a wonderful surprise :-)

So looking at your blocks, I was drawn to the Gloomy Prospects one - the fabric choices were different enough that it made me look twice and I enjoyed figuring out the block - where one fabric ended and another began. I say it's a keeper!! It's interesting!
