February is month one of the Lollipop Ladies new project. So one of my projects for the long weekend was to ready the first block. It is no exaggeration when I say I spent HOURS prepping this block. This is really a departure from my last few projects, but a very happy change. So here's my first block (pinned, not sewn)
Have you seen the original??
I'm liking this, I'm throwing caution to the wind, breaking the rules, charting new territory (for me anyway!) So thanks to Patty, Kathie and Lorre for taking the journey with me....and especially for the contributions of a fabric persuasion!
What do you think of the first block? Too much?
Hugs and Stitches!
Megan

I think it is JUST RIGHT! But boy, guess I'd better get crackin' too....

Love it! Looks like those Perfect Circles will be getting a workout! BTW, I finally got back to my "large" applique project - used your method for the second block - I think I'm a convert!

While it is not my cuppa - I don't think that it is "too much." Love the bottom leaf fabric.

It's very fun, bright, and cheery, especially for this time of year.

Only HOURS prepping this beautiful block? Sure it wasn't days? Beautiful, also not my cup of tea, but I can admire and hope to educate my eye.

I have to agree the colors are out of my comfort zone as well but I love it! We all need to step out of the box every once in awhile :) That is what makes us grow as people and quilters!
