The Forest or the Trees

While some of my friends have been piecing at a feverish pace, I've been the turtle on the crew.  Slow and steady has been my progress on the group projects.  You know how it is.....the work, the family, all cramping my style when it comes to fun projects.

So now I have 9 blocks done and the rest nearly prepped in anticipation of a weekend in the woods.
Trees_2

you know me.....give me a roaring fire, cup of tea, some applique and maybe a good book----Sister Mary gave me The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette and a few others to read--- and I'm good for a long stretch on the couch.

I better hurry up and finish these trees....I've signed on for the next group project:  The Civil War Diaries and the Civil War Love Letters.    Please someone stop me, I can't help myself!!!!

But really, these little groups, both on-line and in person are alot of fun and motivate me to get some of these projects finished (or started).  So find one that fits you.....you'll be glad you did!

Hugs and Stitches!

Megan

P.S.  Remember in high school when we thought we were so funny in saying "Happy V.D." on Feb 14th?   It still kinda cracks me up....not the  Happy VD, but that fact that we thought it was soooo funny.  Anywho.....Happy Valentines Day!!!

It's all relative! Some of us think of you being at the feverish pace and us being the turtles!!!! Happy VD day! (we never called it that in high school but I can see high schoolers thinking it is hysterical).

Congratulations on completing the blocks, they look great!

It is so funny that you mentioned Happy VD day! I remember that as well. As my kids would say "that was back in the day".

Oh my you didn't tell me you were working on these,
I can not allow you to be so far ahead!
off to prep some blocks, I guess my mad piecing days have to be applique catch up days now!
LOL

They look so nice...this is one of those quilts that I've always admired from afar. Ditto on the group thing, it makes it so fun to keep up and stay focused on your work!

Your blocks looks fantastic. Sounds like you should have a nice time in the woods. Hopefully you won't have to dig out to much after yesterdays storm.Happy Winter Break

I love the tree blocks - does that pattern have a name??

Ooooh, lookie at all those pretty trees! Can't wait to see whey they turn into -- is there a pattern in there? Happy Valentine's Day to you too!

I love your trees. They look so great in the light backgrounds.

I really love it. Its absolutely delightful.

Megan, I hate to disappoint you, but I am the paralyzed turtle of the group, I haven't even started yet! They look great, I really must get going on them. It just seems that there are too many other things I am going on to think about starting a new one!
